Important
The child's safety comes before everything. If the child's life is in danger or violence is involved, call 112 or 155 immediately. This article is general information; make your decisions with a lawyer.
Lawyer and court first
Custody or arrangements for personal contact are determined by the courts. If there is a decision, it is enforced through enforcement proceedings; if there is none, through interim measures and a lawsuit. Where a spouse leaves with the child without telling anyone, the legal application should be made quickly.
International situations
If the child has been taken abroad, the Hague Convention on the Civil Aspects of International Child Abduction may come into play. Türkiye is a party to it; applications are made through the competent central authority. Time limits matter; go to your lawyer without delay.
What can a detective do?
A detective works only by lawful methods and in harmony with the competent authorities: open-source and record research, field verification and a factual report for the lawyer. Abducting a child from anyone or taking a child by force is never something we do. For the strict conditions see the locating spouse and child page.
A word of caution
No information that could put the child's or the other parent's safety at risk is shared without verification. If a request is made to find a parent who has fled a spouse with a history of violence, the request may be declined.
