Locating people
Locating a spouse or child: the legal process
Not knowing where your spouse or child is after a separation is deeply distressing. We try to resolve it only within the law and with the child's safety in mind.
When is this service provided?
In cases such as divorce, custody, contact or service of process, when the other party's current address cannot be reached and it is needed for the court process to continue. The application requires a document showing your entitlement, such as a custody order, case file or power of attorney.
The address found is not given to you directly. It is used through your lawyer, the court or the competent authority. This protects both your right and the other party's safety.
If a child has been taken abroad
In international child abduction cases there is an application route under the Hague Convention, to which Turkey is a party. We advise applying immediately to a lawyer and the relevant unit of the Ministry of Justice. We can support document and information preparation.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Can I learn my child's address?
Your entitlement must be documented and there must be no safety risk to the child. The address is used through the court or your lawyer and is not given directly to you.
Can you take the child back?
No. We never take a child by force under any circumstances; it is an offence and harms the child.
